Seussical JR in Peachtree City by JC Booth

Amazing Performance!

Tonight, March 21 2013, JC Booth Middle School is performing the Seussical Jr. for all of us gathered here in the McIntosh Auditorium. This is my first time attending this musical and I wasn`t sure what to expect but so far I am impressed.

The stage props look like they were taken straight from Dr. Seusses books and the costumes must have been leased from a local costume company. What a talented group of kids! If you live any where near Peachtree City and enjoy musicals, then you won’t regret supporting these young talented singers and performers.

Notes on Some of The Songs

Alone In The Universe

Horton the Elephant starts off singing his solo about being alone in the universe. He is then joined by Jojo who is also feeling very alone. Both performers did a great job singing together.

The One Feather Tail of Miss Gertrude McFuzz

The brightly dressed Gertrude starts singing with a small guitar in her hand. She is soon joined by Mayzie and the bird girls in matching pink dresses. The performer who played Gertrude did a great job at singing and dancing.

Monkey Around/Chasing The Who’s

The six young boys who performed this song pulled it off really well! Everyone did such a great job on this song.

Notice Me, Horton

Great job Gertrude for doing such a good job at singing this song. It was fun to watch the relationship between the two characters.

How lucky you are

So far this song is my favorite. Very expressive singing. I really loved the creative design for the piano. The cat in the hat’s voice was a lot of fun, kind of creepy but very good.

Horton Sits on the egg

Great job on the storm effects while Horton was sitting on the egg. They really made the storm come alive. Great job on the Tree props around the nest as well.

How Would I Rank This Musical by JC Booth?

This musical is definitely a huge success for the school, the students who participated, and other volunteers involved.

What Was Great About The Play?

  1. Great props.
  2. The cast sang really well together!
  3. Can’t say enough about the amazing costumes.
  4. The auditorium was a pleasure to be in. Thanks McIntosh for hosting this musical!
  5. The cast did such a good job at getting into character.

Things That Could Have Been Better

  1. The audio had problems and would randomly cut in and out.
