Major Golf Cart Bridge Path Closed in Peachtree City!

The Golf Cart Path Bridge is Closed

Starting today, May 19th, the bridge golf cart path going over Lake Peachtree on HWY 54 is closed. For how long? It is going to be closed until June 19th. This project has been announced heavily and signs have been put up before the bridge on both sides to warn people of this closing.

What Are They Doing?

The wood handrails have deteriorated to the point that they need to be replaced. The project includes the removal and replacement of the wooden handrails. However, the price tag has shocked so many people that many of us assumed that the bridge was going to be widened as well but the project is only for the removal and replacement of the wooden rails.

How Much Will it Cost?

$56,000. Before voicing my concern with this price tag I am going to preface it with the fact that I am not familiar with what similar projects like this cost or the time frame. I know there is a lot that I do not understand or know regarding this. That being said $56,000 seems really high.
