2013 PTC Breast Cancer Walk Gets Lots of Rain

March 23, 2013

* Update: After writing this post we went and contacted The Breast Cancer Survivors’ Network, Inc. to see how the event went. We got an immediate response updating us on how the weather affected the breast cancer walk. We have copied and pasted the response below.

“The walk lasted for about an hour, but was forced to shut down and clear the park as lightining started and did not let us. We got the National Anthem sang, and “Some where over a Rainbow” sang with a high school girl playing the ukalalie. Very touching.

Then for the safety of everyone in the park..we had to go to safety and pack it up. We are planning to do something in PTC in a few weeks to allow a celebration and present awards to those that worked so hard to bring funds into PTC for breast cancer needs for the ones that need it. Funds were great!

We had 700 Panara Bread lunches delivered and 500 pink cupcakes delivered …so all the fire dept’s in PTC and Clothes Less Traveled and about 200 out the walkers did get food. Took us about 2 hours to deliver and get the food out in our great community.”

Thank you so much for giving us an update on how the event went and the positive results from it. THe Breast Cancer Survivors’ Network, Inc is the largest breast cancer support group in the state of Georgia. They help those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
