Leestown Middle School's girls' basketball program left little doubt about who owned Fayette County this season: the Chargers won two championships in the 7th- and 8th-grade divisions, according to fcps.net.
Malaiya Mobley of Leestown was named 2026 Player of the Year, capping a dominant run for the program.
Why it matters — A single middle school program sweeping every grade-level title — regular season and tournament — in the same year is a rare feat that signals a deep and well-coached roster.
