Two men walked out of a Peachtree City Lululemon store before most residents were awake on July 25, taking roughly $17,000 in merchandise — but their morning had started more than an hour earlier and about 30 miles north, where police say they first stole a license plate to cover their tracks.
Peachtree City police say the operation began around 5:02 a.m. in McDonough, when the suspects took a license plate from a vehicle without the owner's consent and attached it to their own car — a gunmetal gray Nissan Altima, 2020 or newer, with tinted windows. Eighty minutes later, at 6:22 a.m., the pair entered the Lululemon store in Peachtree City and stole approximately $17,000 worth of merchandise in a matter of minutes, according to both WSB-TV and Fox 5 Atlanta.
Police have released photos of both suspects and are asking the public for help identifying them. The first is described as a man wearing a black hoodie, Adidas jogging pants, and gray sneakers. The second is harder to miss: a tall, slender man with braids extending past his waist, dressed in a dress shirt with a bow tie, white suspenders, dress pants, patent leather dress shoes, and an orange-and-white Von Dutch cap.
No arrests have been made. Police have not confirmed whether the stolen merchandise or the Altima have been recovered, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or the vehicle is asked to contact Detective Michelle Taylor at MTaylor@Peachtree-City.org and reference Case #P26-29818.
Why it matters — With no arrests made and two unidentified suspects still at large, police are relying on public recognition of a distinctively dressed duo and their vehicle to close the case.
