Why Go to Clay Van Meter for Health Insurance with State Farm?
Health insurance is confusing enough on its own, but with the new implementation of Obamacare, many people don’t know where to start. We are the starting place. Having a personal relationship with my team members and myself will help you get to a place where you feel more comfortable about your options.
New Changes in Healthcare
The primary change that Obamacare brings to the table is that it offers ANYONE to sign up (without concern of being denied due to health issues), but there is a sign up period for the “standard family.” This signup period is called “Open Enrollment.” Open Enrollment is from Nov 15, 2014-Feb 15, 2015.
Special Enrollment
Individuals may qualify for “Special Enrollment Periods” outside of Open Enrollment if they experience certain events. These events are a change in your life that can make you eligible for a special enrollment period to enroll in health coverage. The “Qualifying Life Events” that allow individuals to be eligible for special enrollment include moving to a new state, changes to income, marriage, divorce, or having a baby.
Special Enrollment is a time outside of open enrollment during which you and your family have a right to sign up for health coverage. In the Marketplace, you qualify for a special enrollment period 60 days following live events that involve a change in family status (as listed above) or loss of other health coverage. Job based plans must provide a special enrollment period of 30 days.
