Soffit is the underside of an architectural structure, in this case, it is the underside of the roof that hangs over the home.
Here is an example of a job we have recently done involving a soffit repair. Our client had a problem with the soffit on her home. In a couple places it had rotted out and needed to be replaced.
The job looked great when we were done. The homeowner couldn’t even tell where the problem was when we finished! We take pride in the results we get for our clients, and they appreciate the attention to detail we have with every job.
Here is another account of a soffit repair in Peachtree City. Our client had a leak in his roof for many years that caused the soffit in the porch below to rot out. He needed it replaced with new material, so we bid to cut out all the rotted wood and replace it.
The job turned out so well. Since the porch was an addition to the home several years ago, the framing was a little off and some of the supporting framing for the soffit itself was rotted away. We spent some time rebuilding the framing and lining it up so as to accommodate the finished sheathing. We painted it to match and were very pleased with the final color match.
In order to complete this job, we first had to cut away the old rotted ⅜ plywood sheathing making sure to be able to tie back into the existing sheathing with the new plywood. We then cut out the rotted framing and rebuilt it with new 2x4 studs as to accommodate the new sheathing. When we pulled out the old sheathing it came out in three pieces because of the old uneven framing. We re framed it correctly so we only used 2 pieces. We filled the joins and cracks with filler then painted it all once it dried.
The owners were quite pleased with the end result of this soffit repair especially because it had looked bad for some time. Eugene called me after finding the business on the internet. We met and agreed on a price. We were both happy with the end result.
