E.M. Blue Repairs Garage Roof Leaks!

Hi! I’m Duane, and I own and operate E.M. Blue Roofing. We have recently completed a garage roof leak repair in Peachtree City. Our client had a leak in her garage that was damaging the sheetrock whenever it rained. She wanted the leak fixed so she wouldn’t have to worry about the sheetrock being damaged any more. The leak could have been due to a faulty pipe boot, damaged shingles, or anything else! We had to inspect the roof before telling our client what her problem was.

After receiving a call from our client, we came out to inspect the roof. We found that the small hog valley sitting just above the garage was the problem. We bid to replace the shingles in this area. The gutter just above had detached from the fascia and was contributing to the problem so we bid to reattach that also.

First, we pulled up the old shingles in the valley to find where the leak was. This was not hard to do as we found the problem as soon as the shingles were removed. The problem was that the shingles themselves had failed over time and the felt paper below (which is the last line of defense against moisture) was sliced up and wide open. After removing all the old material, we installed ice and watershield underlayment, then nailed in the new shingles.

Our client was very happy to have the work done. The price was good for her. We had to put the repair off one day from our agreed upon day but she was happy to have been informed early enough to change her plans.
