Fishing is a popular pastime in Peachtree City. There are many locations throughout the city where people can test their luck on the lake. My favorite spot to fish in Peachtree City is Huddleston Pond. I will discuss the other locations to fish later in this post. Citizens over 16 years old must have a valid Georgia Fishing License. These can be acquired at Walmart, Kmart, or online.
Fishing is often viewed as an activity for elderly or retired people, but it is becoming very popular among the younger crowd. There is even a Bass Fishing Club at McIntosh High School where students can get together and learn about fishing and water safety. In fact, in 2012, the McIntosh Bass Fishing Team won the TBF High School Fishing National Championship!
Places to Fish in Peachtree City
In Peachtree City, there are countless creeks, small ponds, and lakes where you can fish! I'm going to do my best to inform you of the best spots I have found. If you have any suggestions or favorite fishing holes in Peachtree City, leave a comment below and let us know!
Lake Peachtree
- There are two docks on Lake Peachtree where you can fish from. Also, citizens can take paddle boats or boats with trolling motors out on the water to fish. Additionally, there are prime spots on the shore where you can fish from. If you want somewhere to take the family or your friends, go to drake field! We have brought our fishing poles with a large group and while some people fished, others played frisbee and threw the football around. The frisbee golf course is nearby so you could play a game of disc golf after you've caught a couple fish.

Huddleston Pond
- Huddleston Pond is a smaller place to fish but that does not mean that there is a scarcity of fish! I have only ever caught catfish in this pond but there are other types of fish as well. When fishing here, watch out for turtles! There are many turtles of assorted sizes that live in Huddleston Pond, so take care as to not catch one on your line. The gazebo at Huddleston Pond is great for having picnics and spending time with friends and family, so take your favorite snacks along on your fishing trip and have a picnic!

Lake Kedron
- Lake Kedron also has a great set of docks. The docks extend far enough out into the lake so when the water is high, you can usually catch pretty large fish in the deeper water. Electric powered boats are allowed on this lake via the public launch. No gasoline, hydrocarbon, or alcohol fueled boats are allowed on this lake.

Lake McIntosh
- I haven't been able to explore many fishing locations at Lake McIntosh. However, I do know that the fishing in this new lake is promising! The same boat regulations apply as Lake Kedron. If you've been fishing at Lake McIntosh, comment below and let us know how it went!

Does anyone know if you can fish the ponds on the golf courses legally? Specifically, there’s a pond on the Braelinn Golf Course my husband has been eyeing. Thanks for the help!
Where do they catch fish in peachtree city
don’t waste time with a question, they don’t respond
Thanks for your comment!
I caught a small northern pike on McIntosh, but I don’t see it on the list of fish that are in the lake. I don’t think anyone brought it there, were they stocked?
An official list of fish that have been stocked in the lake hasn’t been released. If we can get our hands on one we will let you know!
why is there not a lake or lakes that are designated “catch and release” only? I have fished McIntosh, Horton kedron and have seen people keeping undersized fish many times. this would have to be enforced, of course. there lies the problem. the sheriffs dept. don’t care. they never check fishing catches. they rely on state game and fish dept. I have never seen state game and fish dept. ever! if this could be figured out, in order to improve fishing, that would be great! most people in peachtree city only seem to care about golf. what about a trophy bass lake?
Are trolling motors allowed in the smaller ponds, like those on Kedron road?
As far as we know, trolling motors are not permitted on the smaller ponds in Peachtree City
