Make Your Own Produce Wash!

We eat a lot of produce and just ran out of produce wash. So we decided to make our own. This article shows the exact steps for making your own produce wash too! We hope you enjoy it.

P.S. If you love produce, you can buy from our store and get it delivered to your house or you can pick free fruit from the Real Life Center's Orchard. We went to their orchard and had a wonderful time and took a bunch of great pictures.

What's Wrong with a Water Rinse?

There is nothing better than a nice, ripe juicy peach on a hot summer's day in the deep south. If you're anything like me, you grab your fruit, run it under the faucet for a couple of seconds, shake it off then dig in for a scrumptious bite. What's wrong with that? Well, the quick water douse does a lot for my piece of mind, but does it really get rid of all the lingering dirt, pesticides and even bugs that find their way into the crevices of our produce?

Nature's Cleanse

Instead of rushing to the store to buy the latest organic produce spray, make your own with common ingredients that everyone has in their home. Lemon juice is naturally acidic so when you combine it with the cleansing properties of vinegar and some water you get a totally organic, inexpensive produce spray.

It Really is That Easy

Ingredients

1 Tbsp vinegar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 C water

Directions:

1) In a mason jar or a container of your choice, add 1 Tbsp of lemon juice and 1 Tbsp of vinegar to one cup of water and mix well.
2) Put a desired amount of the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray your fruit or vegetable with the spray making sure to cover the entire surface.
3) Rinse and spray with water then consume!
