How Cold is it Supposed To Get Tonight?
Believe it or not the first day of spring was 5 days ago but today feels like it is the first day of winter. A national weather warning for many parts of Georgia, including Peachtree City predicted below 30 degree temperatures and so far their predictions seem to be panning out.
Protect Yourself, Home, and Garden From The Freezing Temperatures
This last winter and now spring has been extremely cold for Peachtree City. The freezing temperatures have caused hundreds of thousands of dollars of damage in Peachtree City. This next section will give you some tips on how to handle the freezing temperatures ahead.
1. Make sure you pipes don't freeze. You can do this by allowing your exterior faucets to drip during the night. If you do this, make sure the sink is not clogged in any way. For more tips feel free to contact

2. Bring all potted plants inside.
3. Add mulch around your outdoor plants.
4. Add a covering for gardens, plants, or flower beds. You can use a blank or even a tarp. Just make sure the covering is propped up and that it doesn't touch the plants.
5. Make sure your heater is working. If it is not, it might be too late tonight but tomorrow call
Ferguson Heating & Air a Peachtree City HVAC company. They have been serving residents and businesses in Peachtree City since 1946.
As you may have noticed many of the trees and plants are starting to blossom and bloom. If temperatures get as cold as predicted it won't be good for plants. If you are starting a garden and your plants are already outside, make sure you keep them warm.
How To Protect Plants
If you have potted plants, the easiest thing would be to bring them inside. For many gardeners, this is not possible because many of their plants and or flowers are not potted. What can be done then?
You can go get some mulch and add it around the base of the plant. The mulch will act as additional insulation.
Cover you plants with a covering. You can do this with a blanket, tarp, or another type of large material. Make sure you prop it up so that it is not touching the plant. The covering will act sort of like a green house.
