Repairing a Rotten Roof Deck in Peachtree City

E.M. Blue recently had a client that had just bought a house with several roof issues. The main issue was that the skylight in the front of the home was leaking and they wanted it taken out. In addition, the decking surrounding it was in bad shape and needed replacing. The shingles needed to be replaced as well. E.M. Blue bid to pull out the skylight and frame it, deck it with new plywood, and reshingle the area.

The skylight had leaked for a while and caused the surrounding decking to rot out so we pulled up all the shingles in that area. Then, we cut out all the rotted plywood. Next, we had to frame up the hole with 2x4 inch studs, then re-deck with new plywood. The final step was to shingle the area with new shingles.

Roof Repair Results

This job turned out very well. There were several other areas through the roof where the decking had popped up, causing the shingles to look raised. We took care of these areas by pulling up the shingles and re-fastening down the plywood and re-shingling the roof.
